There is an increasing prevalence of poorly controlled asthma patients and the importance of primary care management of asthma is undeniable.The Primary Asthma Care Excellence (PACE) Programme is designed to provide consistent and interactive asthma education to primary care doctors via an e-learning platform. This is aimed to enhance asthma care knowledge in a primary care setting, improve diagnosis and overall asthma management, and finally to reduce asthma-related morbidity, improving patient experience and their asthma condition in primary care.This PACE programme is targeted towards enhancing knowledge and skills amongst primary care physicians, medical officers & general physicians in the area of Asthma diagnosis, monitoring and long-term management.Differentiating Asthma from COPD
This module is geared towards assisting primary care doctors in finding the differences between asthma and COPD patients, as there are notable similarities in both respiratory illnesses. The content includes differentiation based on spirometry, the GOLD guidelines, as well as the appropriate referral pathways for a patient at risk of COPD.This PACE Module is presented by Prof. Dr. Liam Chong Kin.This CPD activity is supported by an educational grant from Astra Zeneca
